"She replied, "That's true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters' table.'' Matthew 15:27 NLT
This woman, also known as the Syro-Phoenician woman, exhibited great faith. Her faith was preceded by an attitude of diligence. She came to Jesus with a request but faced rejection from both Jesus and the disciples. It was made known to her that she didn't qualify to receive from Jesus because of who she was; a gentile. Yet she refused to turn back.
Oh how often we missed our visitation in church because a brother or a sister had offended us? You left behind your sacrificial service because of bitterness. We sometimes disqualify ourselves due to an inferiority complex. Meditate on the attitude portrayed by this woman and embrace it. She was diligent and kept her eye on the goal. By this, she received the answer to her request.
Come before God with an expectation but also be diligent before God.
"But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
#Prayer
Heavenly Father, may the Holy Spirit enable me to walk in diligence. This I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen!
