TARRY IN THE CITY (Wait For The Lord)
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalms 27:14 NIV
There is a need for believers to learn how to wait for God with patience and faith. It is imperative that we wait for God because it is a proof of our trust in Him and His timing.
More often than not, we allow circumstances to push us to move ahead of God especially when we are desperately in need of something.
Desperation is one of the major things that can push you out of God's perfect will. When Abram and Sarai were hoping for a child, Sarai out of desperation gave her handmaiden to Abram. Even though Hagar gave birth, it was outside God's will and the child wasn't God's chosen to continue the lineage of Abram. They still had to wait for God to accomplish what He had promised in His own time.
Don't allow desperation and over eagerness to push you out of God's will. Your ability to stay in His will is significantly dependent on how patiently you can wait for Him. Wait for His greenlight to proceed in anything you do and wait for Him to work in His own way and time, to do as He has said.
Father, I pray that you enable me to continually stay in your will and give me the patience to wait for your move at all times, in Jesus' name. Amen.
