TARRY IN THE CITY (Until You Receive The Promise)
"“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

In the commands of Jesus, He never specified how long the disciples had to tarry in the city. They had to tarry only until the promise had been fulfilled.
One of the reasons you must tarry is when you're expecting the manifestation of a promise or prophecy concerning your life. It is in the place of tarrying that you can enforce the manifestation of prophecies in the physical world.
Everything that happens in the physical is preceded by activities in the unseen spiritual realms. Prophecies or promises are God's intentions for our lives that exist in the realms of the spirit. The onus now lies on us to "pray" these intentions into manifestation, and it is in the place of tarrying that we can cause this shift.
When Jesus gave his disciples the model of prayer(The Lord's Prayer) in Matthew 6, he said we should pray "Let your kingdom come and let your will be done in earth as it is in Heaven". God's perfect will for us exists in heaven but we must pray it into manifesting on earth. You tarry to bring God's promises into full manifestation.
Father, As I tarry in your presence, may your promises concerning my life manifest in the name of Jesus. Amen
