TARRY IN THE CITY (Until You Receive Power)

#SamKorankyeAnkrah

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

”Acts 1:8 NKJV

One of the reasons Jesus required the disciples to tarry is so that they receive power to carry out the assignment He had given them. Tarrying is a recipe for receiving power from God for divine assignments.

Power is defined in the dictionary as the ability to do something. The Greek word for power, "dunamis", also translates to ability, force or energy albeit as one derived from God. So just as a car obtains power from its engines to move and function, we derive our power from God to move and function excellently in life.

The ability to succeed in ministry is from God; the ability to excel in your career, marriage, academia, business and life is derived from the All Powerful God. And to obtain this ability/power, Jesus instructs that you tarry. You will miss out on receiving the fullness of this power from God when you don't have the patience to tarry and wait on God.

#Prayer

Father, I pray for the release of your power which gives me the ability to excel in life, in the name of Jesus.
