“When we come into the land, you must leave this scarlet rope hanging from the window through which you let us down. And all your family members—your father, mother, brothers, and all your relatives—must be here inside the house.”
Joshua 2:18 NLT

Joshua had sent two spies to Jericho to spy on the land ahead of Israel’s invasion. To avoid capture, they hid in Rahab’s house. She protected them and ensured they were safe. To return her kindness, they assured her that she and her family would be preserved, provided she distinguished her home with the scarlet rope.

The scarlet rope represents and is an Old Testament typology of the blood of Jesus. Therefore, by hanging the rope, Rahab was invoking the covenant of the blood for protection.

God has revealed to us that 2023 will be a year of great contention; but you can go ahead of the enemy and apply the blood to ensure that you and your affairs remain intact, since partaking in the blood invokes covenant: “for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and His people.”
Matthew 26:28 NLT

This week, I declare that the blood will go ahead of you and protect you from any impending danger. May the redemption power of the Blood speak for you and your household in Jesus’ name.
