For 40 days, Goliath taunted the people of Israel: morning and evening.
The Israelites were dismayed and greatly afraid until David arose to fight Goliath, whom he described as an “Uncircumcised Philistine”
Many doubted David’s ability to face the giant; he was young and inexperienced, and from a human perspective, he didn’t stand a chance. However, from our opening verse, you can tell David was very confident. He had seen the Lord deliver him countless times as a shepherd boy, so he knew the Goliath situation would be no different.
David depended on the Lord for his victory and victorious he was.
To walk in this kind of victory, we need to emulate David’s confidence. Our challenges may be great, but God is greater. Our problems stand no chance against Him.
We can not allow our circumstances to bully us into timidity. Our confidence reflects our trust in God, and with Him on our side, victory is assured!
I declare over your life, in the name of Jesus, the Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace, Amen!
