“For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, And those who plundered us requested mirth, Saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!””
Psalm 137:3 NKJV
The Babylonian captors, upon seeing the Israelites in misery, mocked them and asked them to sing songs about Zion to entertain them. The Israelites swore never to sing again because they felt hopeless.
In pain and in misery, the devil will often make mockery of you. Sometimes you find yourself in situations that are beyond help and you are mocked by your accusers. They ask, where is your God?
In your moment of pain, depression, fear, poverty and mockery, it’s becomes difficult to praise God. Yet in such instances, your praise will usher you into your victory.
Your praise or song, celebrates the goodness of good and assures you that He is Lord. The devil will discourage you from praising God but do not hold back your praise.
Do not be discouraged when you find yourself in Babylon. The Lord will deliver and bring you back to Zion. You shall sing again to glorify His name. Your songs shall be filled with thanksgiving and praise. Keep believing and have faith.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
Psalm 34:1 NKJV
#Prayer
We give glory to your name and we praise you, Lord. We will continue to sing praises to your name all the days of our lives. No one shall steal our songs in Jesus’ name. Amen
