“Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel.”

II Samuel 7:8 NKJV

The story of David is introduced at a time when David had been sidelined and forgotten by his family. He was left alone in the bush howbeit, diligently taking care of his father's sheep while establishing a relationship with God.

In his season of loneliness and rejection, God's mercy found him in the obscure places of the wilderness. It doesn't matter where you are or the situation you may be in, the mercy of God is able to reach you and pull you out.

God found David worthy to be honored because of the purity of his heart and his diligence in service. From the day he received the anointing, God ordered his steps from the bush into the palace to eventually take his rightful position on the throne as ruler of Israel.

The glory that came upon David by the anointing made him advance from obscurity into a place of rulership. This is one of the manifestations of the glory on a man's life: his life moves forward from one level to another.

I declare that God's mercy will find you in your lowly state and His glory will make you advance in the name of Jesus.
