HONOURING A FATHER (The Blessing)

“Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”
Exodus 20:12 NKJV
This week, we have learned about the importance of honouring God and the parents He has given us. In today's scripture, we find that If we obey this commandment, God promises that we will live a long and fulfilling life.
Paul explains in Ephesians that following this commandment will lead to a good life, and things will go well for us as we live long. One can live long
but be miserable and unfulfilled, obedience to the commandment is the key to changing this narrative.
Honouring this commandment promises an escape from all forms of poverty and brings success in our family, business, education, career, marriage, and all other endeavours. When you honour the Father, you will, in turn, receive honour. If you want people to honour you, first, honour God. David understood this secret, and even his enemies still honour him now.
May God honour you, and His blessings rest upon you as you bring honour to Him and your parents.
