DEALING WITH THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN

“In great fear and distress Jacob divided the people who were with him into two groups, and the flocks and herds and camels as well. He thought, “If Esau comes and attacks one group, the group that is left may escape.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭32‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jacob had received news that his brother Esau was charging towards his camp with four hundred men. He was afraid and did not know what the future held for him and his family. Unknown to Jacob, God had already taken control of the future.

We learnt earlier in the week that fear is a human emotion. It reminds us that we are human and we have limitations. Our limitations include our inability to predict what the future holds and this stirs up a reaction of fear.

The Bible says in Matthew 6:34 that we should not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow shall take care of itself. In other words, God is assuring you that the provision for tomorrow has already been made.

Remember how God has brought you this far and have confidence in His ability to provide all your needs according to his riches in glory. May your fears turn into victory in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
