"While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things." Acts 5:4-5 NKJV
The early Christians had a practice of supporting each other and collectively contributing to the growth of the church with their substance and possessions.
On this occasion, Ananias and Sapphira decided to keep a portion of what they should have offered for the work of God. This act of robbing God resulted in an irreversible consequence of death just because they refused to offer the full portion of what they had perhaps vowed to God.
The vows we make to God are binding and must be honoured. What we offer God enables Him to be our protection and covering as we remain in covenant.
Breaking the covenant takes you outside of the circumference of His covering and protection which inadvertently opens you up for the enemy to attack your finances, family, business and anything that concerns you.
I pray that you shall not break the covenant and you shall stay under God's protective covering against the attacks of the enemy.
Stay blessed!
