A verse a day
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.” -Philippians 2:14-16

“Of David. Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—” -Psalm 103:1-2

Regional News of Friday, 19 February 2016

Seventeen inmates at Koforidua Prison in the Eastern region are to undergo hernia surgery by a medical team attached to a prison outreach project of the Royal House Chapel led by the Apostle General, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah.

Rev. Korankye Ankrah and his team visited the Koforidua prisons to provide free medical care, drugs, meals and evangelism from Thursday to Friday as part of a mega crusade being held by the Church in Eastern regional capital.

He said similar hernia surgeries have been performed for 27 prison inmates at Ankaful Prison during a similar exercise which has taken the team to almost all prisons in Ghana.

Rev. Korankye Ankrah said the Prison Outreach Program is part of the Church’s holistic approach to helping reduce crime rate in the country.

He mentioned that the church has started “School of Restoration” aimed at enrolling ex-convicts to undergo a year of impartation program to ensure that ex-convicts are properly reintegrated into society.

The Assistant Director of Prison/Officer in charge at Koforidua Prison, Benedict Bob-Dery said, inhumane conditions at Prisons in Ghana is only punitive not transformational which only hardens criminals therefore the need for more to be done for prisons to live up to its core mandate.

He lamented over the woefully insufficient feeding fee for inmates which is currently GHC1.80p and also overcrowding at the prisons.

Mr. Bob-Dery explained that, the facility which was built to hold a maximum of 400 prisoners now houses over 700 inmates.

2017 THEME: LET GOD ARISE

Psalms 68:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
Psalms68:2 As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
Psalms68:3 But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.

Psalms 68:1 is a scripture that we are all familiar with. It is a prayer that David cried to God at a time when he was desperate to see God answer certain prayers and move mightily in his life.

It is important to note that this prayer that David prayed had previously been prayed just once before in the bible, by the patriarch Moses.

Numbers 10:33 So they departed from the mountain of the LORD on a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them for the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
Numbers 10:34 And the cloud of the LORD was above them by day when they went out from the camp.
Numbers 10:35 So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You.”
Numbers 10:36 And when it rested, he said: “Return, O LORD, To the many thousands of Israel.”

There are times when the sons must go back and echo the prayers of the fathers to God! There is nothing new under the sun! The formula for success in life and ministry have clearly been spelled out in God’s word, and 2016 is a year when we must search the scriptures to discover the secrets of success of the patriarchs, and replicate them! This is what David did!

David saw it wise to invoke this powerful prayer- LET GOD ARISE- because Moses had done the same, and succeeded!

Moses had been saddled with the task of leading the Israelites from Sinai to Canaan. In 2016, I want to see all Royalhouse Chapel churches arrive at the Canaan that God has prepared for us!

Consider where they were leaving:

Sinai was a holy hill
Sinai was the place where the glory and the presence of God dwelled
Sinai was the place where God spoke with Moses
Sinai was the place where God gave Moses the ten commandments
Sinai was the place where Moses descended from and his face was shining so bright by reason of the encounter with God
Sinai was the place where they saw His glory and heard His voice
Sinai was the place where they entered into covenant with God

Similarly, as I travel throughout the world and visit our Missions, I can clearly testify to the fact that God has been good to Royalhouse Chapel. Our churches are vibrant and our pastors are running with the vision. We have seen God’s glory across the world, and the covenant that I have with God is proving itself true over and over again!

Consider where they were going:

Canaan!

We cannot be satisfied with Sinai! For as good and as faithful as God has been to us, there is still more! There is still a Canaan that we must get to, and 2016 is the year that we must get there!

In order to accomplish this monumental task of leading this vast army to their promised land, there is a formula prescribed from Moses, and echoed by David, that we can follow.

For Moses to succeed in this critical assignment, three things had to happen.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord had to go ahead of them (PRESENCE)

Num 10:33 So they departed from the mountain of the LORD on a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them for the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

In the Old Testament, the ark of the covenant represented the presence of God.

Exo 33:13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”
Exo 33:14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Exo 33:15 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.

God is reminding us that in 2016, we will not succeed unless we engage the presence of God FULLY in all our endeavors!

The cloud of the Lord had to be above them (PROTECTION)

Num 10:34 And the cloud of the LORD was above them by day when they went out from the camp.

The cloud was important to them as it created SHADE, SHELTER, COVERING, and PROTECTION for the Israelites!

In 2016, we must work diligently to ensure that the cloud of God’s glory is perpetually dwelling above all our churches and be evident in all our endeavors.

Moses had to invoke a certain prayer (POWER)

Moses had to invoke a certain prayer! This was not just a prayer- it was a BATTLE CRY of desperation and total dependence on God!
It was a prayer that assumes that certain things can only happen when God arises!

Num 10:35 So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You.”

Note that:
They were going to a place they had not been before, and so God had to go ahead of them
They needed to depend on God!
They also understood that in this world there are enemies!
There are enemies that fight God!
Fight His doctrine
Fight His word
Fight His principles
There are enemies that fight the people of God
Anytime you are trying to move ahead in life, there are enemies that will fight you
Some of them are open enemies
Some of them are secret enemies
There are enemies that fight the vision of Royalhouse and are envious of our success

Sons, comrades, and partners- if David had to invoke this prayer, and Moses had to invoke this prayer, then surely you and I must do the same in 2016, and we will see great results!

You have talked enough, and thought enough. You have cried enough, and worried enough. It is now time for you to engage in prayer!

What we need for our enemies to be scattered is for God to arise!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR GOD TO ARISE

Heb 8:1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Isa 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

1Ki 22:19 Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left.

Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.

Visions of God in the scriptures are always descriptive of a God who is SITTING! And yet, it is possible for us mortal men to pray a prayer that will cause God to ARISE for us! How does this happen?

God will arise for those who have a COVENANT with Him

Moses had a COVENANT RELATIONSHIP with God

Num 12:6 Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.
Num 12:7 Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.
Num 12:8 I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings…

God will arise for those who TOUCH HIS HEART

Act 13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID THE SON OF JESSE, A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART, WHO WILL DO ALL MY WILL.’

God will arise for those who PROVOKE Him by PRAYER

Exo 3:7 And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
Exo 3:8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.
Exo 3:9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
Exo 3:10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Let me end by leaving you with these two scriptures:

Psa 102:13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.

Isa 28:21 For the LORD will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon— That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act.

When God arises for you, it means that you are about to experience God’s favor, and also experience extraordinary breakthroughs like David did at Mount Perazim!

May 2016 be a season of favor and unusual breakthroughs for you. May you arrive at your promised land! I love you, and I wish you a victorious and impactful year.

Monday: Romans 11:33–12:2

Dear Lord, I am Yours. I offer myself to You, my heart, mind, and will in humble service and in thankful worship for all You have done for me. Use me this year as a precious vessel in Your hands to Glorify Your Holy name.

Tuesday: 2 Kings 6:8–17

Dear God, please give me a glimpse of Your power today and each day of this year 2017. Help me to believe that You are willing and able to help me in any situation I en- counter this year. Protect me and my family with horses and chariots of fire like You did for Elisha.

Wednesday: 1 John 4:20–5:5

Father, in 2017, give me the faith I need to overcome the world and every situation that comes my way. Help me to study Your word, believe in Your word like a little child, live according to Your word, and love my neighbor so that my faith in You will become stronger each day.

Thursday: Genesis 3:8–17

Father in Heaven, have mercy on me and forgive me for all my sins. Show me compassion and love in the midst of my stubbornness. Deliver me from every evil I have brought upon myself as a result of my own actions. I cut off from my life anyone who will make me sin and separate myself my God this year. May God’s judgment come upon anyone plotting to make me sin and fall.

Friday: Matthew 2:1–12

Dear Jesus, make me wiser this year than in any other year. Give me the spirit of discernment to discern things around me before they happen so that the enemy will have no victories against me. Let no one be able to deceive me. Expose their plots like Herod was exposed. Give me the wisdom of the wise men to seek, follow, sacrifice, and worship You each day of this year.

Saturday: Matthew 6:9–15

Lord, in 2017, make me a prayer bulldozer. Make my communications with Your through prayer solid and consistent than ever before. And as I do, grant me access to Your throne and answer me when I call. Provide my family our daily bread this year and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Sunday: Matthew 11:25–30

Father, reveal Your son Jesus and the power in Your son to Your chosen servant each day of 2017. When he is weary and have heavy burdens and calls upon You, give him rest. Give him a humble and gentle heart, and teach him everything he should know for his life, his ministry, and his family. Use him to teach us – RCI, to lay our burdens onto Jesus so that He will give our souls rest.

TIME FOR ELEVATION

The Bible tells us in Genesis 8:5 that, “On the first day of the tenth month, [Noah and his family] saw the top of the mountain.”
This was after the rains has stopped and waters had continuously receded.

The top of the mountain signifies
1. Elevation and
2. Promotions.
This excites me because it’s an indication that after you weather all the storms in your life, the next thing that follows is your elevation and promotion.

This week, and in 2017, I declare, you shall be elevated above shame and reproach.
May you be elevated above poverty and sickness.
May you be elevated and promoted in every area of your life. In mighty name of Jesus, I invoke these blessings on you.
